BMS inspection engineer

BMS inspection engineer

Wuxi | full time | BMS inspection engineer
Job responsibilities

Responsible for the testing and verification of battery BMS for two-wheeled vehicles (electric bicycles, electric motorcycles) to ensure that products meet national standards, corporate standards and the market's stringent requirements for safety and performance. Main responsibilities include:

1. Functional testing: Lead the verification of BMS core functions, including voltage/current/temperature acquisition accuracy testing, overcharge/over-discharge/overcurrent/short-circuit protection function verification, relay control logic testing and single battery balancing function testing.

2. Communication test: Responsible for the stability and consistency test of the BMS communication protocol to ensure that CAN bus communication (in compliance with GB/T 27930 and other protocols) is reliable, the UDS diagnostic function is complete, and it can interact stably with the vehicle or charging equipment.

3. Reliability and environmental testing: Develop and implement high and low temperature cycle tests, heat and humidity tests, vibration and shock tests, salt spray tests, and long-term cycle charge and discharge life tests to comprehensively evaluate the environmental adaptability and durability of BMS.

4. Safety test: Execute strict electrical safety tests, including overvoltage/undervoltage/overtemperature protection response time test, insulation resistance test, thermal abuse test and fault simulation test, to ensure that BMS can protect the battery system in a timely and effective manner under abnormal conditions.

5. Test plan formulation: Independently formulate test plans and design test cases based on product requirements and national standards. Set up a test environment.

6. Collaboration and improvement: Work closely with hardware, software and product engineers to conduct root cause analysis on test failure samples, output professional test reports, and promote design optimization and problem closure.

Qualifications

1. Hard skills and experience

•Education major: Bachelor degree or above, electronics, electrical, automation, vehicle engineering, computer science and other related majors.

•Professional knowledge: Familiar with the characteristics of lithium batteries (lithium iron phosphate, ternary lithium) and the working principle of BMS; familiar with analog/digital circuits and able to independently analyze circuit schematics.

•Tools and standards: Proficient in using professional equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, CAN analyzers, charge and discharge test equipment, high and low temperature chambers. Deeply understand and master core national standards such as GB/T 36972-2026 and GB 43854-2024.

•Project experience: More than 3 years of experience in BMS hardware development, testing or battery system development. Applicants with experience in power battery pack and energy storage system development, or experience in cooperation projects with OEMs will be given priority.

2. Soft skills and qualities

•Problem analysis and resolution: Have excellent data analysis skills and logical thinking, and can quickly locate performance bottlenecks or root causes of faults through test data.

•Communication and collaboration: Have excellent cross-department communication skills, be able to clearly express technical opinions, and collaborate efficiently with the R&D team to jointly promote problem solving.

•Quality and Responsibility: Have a high sense of responsibility for product quality, work rigorously and meticulously, and be able to strictly implement testing specifications and not let go of any potential risks.

•Learning and Adaptation: Have the ability to quickly learn new technologies and new standards, and be able to actively adapt to changes and challenges brought about by the rapid development of the industry.

•Proactivity: Able to proactively predict design risks, lead the optimization of test plans, and continuously improve test processes and methods.
